The Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven), effective July 1, 2022, promotes human rights and ethical business practices. It requires large and medium-sized companies to assess and disclose risks related to human rights and working conditions in their supply chains.
Based on UN and OECD guidelines, the law ensures transparency, allowing the public to request information on corporate due diligence efforts. By enforcing accountability, it strengthens corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Norway’s commitment to fair and sustainable business practices.
