The position

As a Workshop Electrical Technician, you will be part of a small, well-functioning team who support our ongoing operations. The position offers challenges in a busy environment and is based onshore in Aberdeen. Some travel may be required.

We are looking for strong candidates with an Electrical/Electronic (preferably both) maintenance background. Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry would be advantageous however, not essential.



Responsibilities:

  • Have a high focus on safety and professionalism, working in accordance with Welltec procedures and HSE regulations at all times.
  • General maintenance of Welltec interventions equipment including redressing, repairing, and preparing equipment
  • Preparing ATEX equipment for inspection and testing prior to operations
  • Pre-mobilization testing of electronics as per Welltec procedures and instructions.
  • Being proficient in the use of electrical multi-meters and other basic instruments
  • Identify and communicate technical problems and perform complex tasks with minimal instruction.
  • Maintain records and write reports as required by company procedures.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement efforts associated with Welltec tools and equipment.
  • Operating a 2 Tonne and 8 Tonne forklift (training will be given if required)
  • Be part of an on-call rota system and have a flexible approach to working overtime at short notice.
  • Final preparation, assembly, and mobilization of equipment to offshore locations.
  • Packing and shipping of equipment for dispatch to other Welltec locations.

 

The candidate

The preferred candidate will have experience in an Electrical or Electronic maintenance environment, experience in a similar role in the oil and gas industry is preferred. Familiarity with mechanical and hydraulic systems would be an advantage as well as a background working with downhole tools, but this is not essential. They will be a highly motivated and forward-thinking individual who is willing to work under pressure and in varying conditions. Will also have the following:

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel
  • Hold a current driving license.
  • ATEX certified preferred however training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Positive, talented individual with an interest and curiosity for hands on experience in the maintenance of cutting-edge downhole robotic technology.
  • A creative outlook with the ability to work independently and in a team.
