The department

As a Technical Manager in Welltec’s Well Completions Services segment, you will be part of the Global Operations department. You will become part of a team that is recognized as the go-to technical experts for Welltec’s Well Completions Services.

The position 

As a our new Technical Manager, your work will center around ensuring smooth, fail-safe, and high quality delivery of Welltec’s Well Completion Services and tools. The primary focus of your position will be on providing technical advice and assistance to our diverse clients, operational- and commercial teams, mostly in the eastern hemisphere.

In this position, you will have a great opportunity to learn and develop - and help others to learn and develop. Your training during onboarding will be hands-on and rewarding. To give you the best start possible, you will initially be mentored by our Global Operations Manager to learn about our Well Completions business segment and become familiar with our specialized technology.

You will be asked to learn a lot to become an independent technical expert but in return you will be given responsibility and support to make your impact early, develop your skillset and start becoming an important part of our business.

You will be working from our base in Esbjerg in Denmark but will occasionally travel to other bases around the world. 

Key responsibilities 

•    Provide technical advise and guidance to our operational staff and to clients (IOC’s, NOC’s, service companies, global drilling contractors, etc.) during technical discussions, job-planning, ongoing jobs and post-jobs
•    Conduct follow-up meetings or reviews with clients after invesitgations and incidents
•    Be the technical expert in sales processes in collaboration with our commercial teams 
•    Review, monitor and safety- & quality-assure job plans, instructions, procedures and other documents at our various bases to ensure compliance with high safety and quality standards
•    Teach our staff about our tools, services and Well Completions technicalities whenever needed
•    Analyse, review and approve non regular jobs
•    Troubleshoot and analyze jobs and potential failures

The candidate

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

•    Strong troubleshooter and a systematic planner that is highly motivated by ensuring high quality and correctness in every detail
•    Excellent technical knowledge within Well Completions Services and tools and strong analytical capabilities
•    Robust stakeholder management skills and knows how to manage clients with diverse requirements and needs
•    Capable of working independently in a fast paced environment where adaptability is a key competence
•    Curious to learn about our tools and services and motivated to become an expert that teaches others
•    Has undergone thorough training and/or acquired broad experience with Well Completions Design, Well Completions Tools, Torque and Drag and Well Barriers

We expect you to have good English language skills and you are willing to travel from time to time. It is preferred if you have been working as a Completions Field Engineer or Service Delivery Manager and has a degree within Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Technology or alike – but it is not required.
