The department

Welltec Oilfield Services Norway is actively recruiting an Operation Specialist in Bergen or Stavanger. 

We are looking for a self-driven and ambitious person who is technically well-founded and possesses the ability to work in a team to provide continuous technical support to ongoing offshore operations, with an eye for detail in planning upcoming operations.

The position 

As an Operation Specialist (OS), you will plan and execute operations for Welltec Norway.  You will be responsible for ensuring all documentation is kept up to date as well as planning and executing pre-job tests including SIT/test/Qualification reports.

The OS is responsible for organising and coordinating operations and is responsible for service quality within the region as well as implementation and execution of all relevant processes in connection to planning, pre- and post-job briefing of Field Staff. Our ideal OS demonstrates technical skills to deliver Welltecs optimal service quality.

We are looking for a strong candidate with well completion downhole experience, to perform job planning and follow up ongoing jobs.

Key responsibilities 

The Operation Specialist is member of the Operational team, and their main responsibilities are:

• Support operations and sales teams technically
• Develop procedures for offshore and onshore completion operations
• Risk assessment of completion operations
• Testing of tools to be sent to completion operations
• Preparation of field reports and procedures for operations
• Review of operation reports
• Planning and coordinating operations with customers
• Providing field services when relevant
• Travel to customer meetings is expected

The candidate

• Have experience from operations with a wide range of down hole tools
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience within cased and open hole completions
• Show great attention to detail and process a sound technical knowledge of all Welltec completion applications including open hole completions, cased hole completions and liner hanger deployments
• Have excellent communications skills and show leadership qualities
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs and relevant Welltec software
• Have the capability to work alone or as part of a dynamic team as required

Qualifications

• University degree or Vocational school degree
• Preferred degree: Engineering, technician or similar
• Language requirements: English (preferred)
• Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian and English
• Extensive experience with on- and offshore operations
• Experience with completions, preferably lower completions
• Practical experience as a field engineer
