32 Select Fire Detonators Conveyed with a Well Tractor^®

A customer in Eastern Alberta identified cold formation areas in its cyclic steam wells while utilizing the Well Tractor and temperature logging tools. It was decided that perforations were required at various points throughout the horizontal section.

Subsequently, the Well Tractor was selected to convey 32 selective fire perforating guns in one singe run. Each gun was equipped with its own detonator to fire the shaped charges at various points throughout the horizontal wellbore. The perforating guns were successfully conveyed to the bottom in one run. Each shot was logged into position with accurate wireline depth control and fired at pre-determined depths. Depths were based on the temperature profile conveyed by the Well Tractor in a prior operation.
