The electric wireline Well Tractor is optimized for pulling force and speed in conjunction with the down hole completion string. Powerful enough to push large open hole tool strings into open hole, and robust enough to withstand the shocks of perforating, the Well Tractor is unique on the market.
The Well Tractor functions with an electric over hydraulic power relationship. The control panels, communications and internal power source are electric, while the remaining parts and functions are hydraulic. This makes it possible to adjust traction by reducing the number of wheels necessary to drive the Well Tractor – without affecting efficiency. To increase the Well Tractor’s pull force, we can add extra drive sections, which also allows for speed adjustments.
In order to provide good communication with the winch driver, the surface control panels are normally positioned inside the wireline unit. The panels power and control the Well Tractor’s progress in the well. Diagnostic data are also relayed back to the surface.
We currently provide services with the Well Tractor in two sizes: 2 1/8” and 3 1/8" outside diameter.
