World’s First Milling of Flapper Valve

Shortly after the Well Miller was introduced, it performed its first job with great success. The operation was to mill a flapper valve of 0.78” thickness and 3.15” diameter hole on wireline by using the Well Tractor and the Well Miller. The milling operation only took 7 minutes and resulted in putting the well on production below budget.

If coiled tubing had carried out the job, the operation would have taken an estimated 4-5 days to mobilize, rig-up and run.
