The Well Tractor conveys the Well Key to the target depth, after which it is activated and put into “search mode”.
In conjunction with the Well Stroker, the Well Key applies the required force to shift a sleeve once the Well Key has latched into the shifting profile. The Well Key engages the required profile while the Well Stroker applies the energy to actuate the sliding sleeve. After shifting the sleeve, the Well Key disengages from the shifting profile and continues in search mode.
After all sleeves have been shifted, search mode is terminated. The keys then retract into the Well Key’s body, allowing the wireline string to be pulled out of the hole.
When valves are manipulated with the Well Key, full integrity on down hole jewelry is maintained. It prevents tear on profile, which is important if for instance the profile has been damaged prior to the shifting process.
