Applicable in both Open and Cased Holes
Once the Coiled Tubing Well Tractor is powered up, the wheels in each section are hydraulically deployed out of its body and immediately start to rotate. Each wheel contains its own independent hydraulic motor that facilitates the forward motion of the CT Well Tractor.
A fluid-powered turbine drives the hydraulic system and moves the CT Well Tractor forward. Once the wheels establish contact with the casing or open hole, the CT Well Tractor moves forward while pulling the coiled tubing further into the horizontal wellbore, thus taking the string beyond the original hang up point. When the tool string reaches its objective depth, the Well Tractor is powered down.
The Coiled Tubing Well Tractor works with different types of fluids or drilling muds such as water, brine, acidizing fluids, pure nitrogen, co-mingled nitrogen/water or drilling mud.
