Complete Well Overhaul

A 318 CT Well Tractor in tandem with e-line on 2” coiled tubing performed a complete well overhaul, including well clean out, PLT, plug setting and straddle pack setting. During the operation, the CT Well Tractor accumulated 7,418 ft running distance in a highly deviated well.

Utilizing the CT Well Tractor reduced the necessary size of the coiled tubing, which ultimately made the operation possible. The extra pull force provided by the CT Well Tractor made it possible to set the 312 ft long straddle pack in just 1 run.

The job could not have been carried out without the CT Well Tractor. Plug setting at a point higher in the well would have been necessary, which would have cut off parts of the pay zone. In the extreme case scenario, the well would have been shut down in order to drill a new one.

Additional benefits were environmental savings since the operation required fewer runs. Furthermore, the CT Well Tractor increased safety in job run.
