Welltec's Coiled Tubing Well Tractor was used on a successful perforating job, which took place in the Andrew field (the North Sea) in 2003. For maximum pull force, two Coiled Tubing Well Tractors were run in tandem to provide up to 7,000 lbs pull force.
Hang up depth was established in the well and the two intervals were perforated at 1,066 ft and 820 ft respectively. The well was successfully perforated using a pressure pulse activated firing system and 3 3/8” High Shot Density guns. Total cumulative distance covered was 4,500 ft and tool string weights were in excess of 17,000 lbs. The size of the perforating guns was a world's first.
