Engineering and Manufacturing
To promote innovation, ensure high quality levels and protect our intellectual property, we manufacture and assemble the components that are most critical to our equipment’s reliability and technical performance in-house. The manufacturing process is largely comprised of the multiple and complex cutting, grinding and precision-assembly activities required to manufacture high performance hardened metal parts and equipment.
Our performance and innovation are due in large part to our ability to conceive, design and manufacture high-precision, miniaturized parts, hydraulic systems and electric motors. We apply these proprietary technologies to deliver large amounts of force in hostile well conditions such as high temperature, pressure, sand, abrasiveness, acidity, etc.
We design quality, performance, reliability and manufacturability into Welltec’s proprietary remote-controlled precision robotic equipment at the earliest stages of the design phase. Our definition of quality inseparably includes safety, health and environmental benefits.
Craftsmen with decades of experience as well as fine attention to manufacturing quality and process controls are critical to breakthrough solutions along with extensions and enhancements to existing services. Therefore, Welltec operates an apprenticeship programme to attract and train skilled employees. We augment practical training with formal training at our Welltec Manufacturing Academy and external training provided by third parties. For example, members of our electronics assembly team are sent to courses approved by the European Space Agency to be certified in fail-safe assembly and soldering to a standard to which we voluntarily adhere. Welltec also visits factories and adopts best practices from other industries that also value reliability to ensure world-class manufacturing practices.
The first line of quality control is our people, who take extreme pride in their work. Their efforts are supplemented with an extensive and rigorous formal quality control program that includes ongoing ISO 9001:2000 recertification.
