String of Successful OH Logging Jobs Performed in North Dakota
As of June 09, Welltec has completed 29 successful OH logging jobs for an operator in the Bakken Shale in North Dakota.
Previously, the operator was using drill pipe conveyed (DPC) logging to get the tools downhole. However, by applying Welltec’s Well Tractor technology, they are saving approximately $80,000 to $100,000 – per well. In addition, the quality of the open hole log data is improved using the Well Tractor over DPC and there is less damage to the logging cable and tools.
Since Welltec follows the drilling rig that is on location, the operator is saving a minimum of two days and therefore associated cost.
Estimated cost savings for all 29 jobs: $2,320,000 - $2,900,000.
In these wells, Welltec is tractoring in nominal 8.5” ID Open Hole laterals. Complimentary tools are also mobilized to enable running the AC tandem configuration of the Well Tractor if required in a “washout situation”.
The 30th job is planned for June 13th and two more jobs are planned for July.
