Natural gas

A mixture of light hydrocarbons (typically methane) found in their natural variety in the crust of the earth. If it is found in connection with oil, it is called associated gas – which is the most common kind of gas. 
 

Natural gas liquids (NGL)

Fluent hydrocarbons that typically occur along with natural gas. Also called condensate. 
 

Nipple

A completions element that is fabricated as a short section of heavy wall tubular with a machined internal surface, providing a tightly closed area and a locking profile. Most completions include landing nipples in order to enable plugs and chokes. 
 

Non-associated gas

Natural gas in a reservoir without noticeable amounts of crude.
