Edge water
A layer of water right above, below or around an oil/gas reservoir.
Elastomer
An elastic, synthetic rubber or plastic material, which often is the main element in the packer material used in down hole packers.
Emulsifier
A material that causes water and oil to form an emulsion.
Emulsion
A mixture of two fluids that is not soluble in each other. For instance oil and water.
Enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
Refers to a series of different processes that increase the amount of oil from a reservoir. Usually, injecting fluids or gas increases the amount.
