Welltec was established in 1994 when our founder, Jørgen Hallundbæk, decided to commercialize a radical idea: precision-robotic technology to increase industry production levels by making access to horizontal and deviated oil and gas wells more feasible. Welltec’s technology was originally part of Hallundbæk’s thesis at the Technical University of Denmark in 1987.
Jørgen’s drive and innovation transformed one person’s research project into a 400-person international company. Today, Welltec's services are in high demand by the world’s largest oil and gas companies who have incorporated our services into their standard operating plans for horizontal and deviated wells. At Welltec, we work by the motto “Nothing is impossible”.
