Welltec® Senior Management
The senior management at Welltec comprises our company’s founder and CEO along with six Vice Presidents each with separate responsibilities. All members of Welltec’s senior management have extensive experience from the oil and gas industry and thereby ensure a continued, strong governance of the company.
Jørgen Hallundbæk
Founder and CEO
Jørgen Hallundbæk, founder and CEO, overall responsible for the management of Welltec.

Spurred by work on 3D wave simulations for platform construction, slim hole drilling and geotechnical surveys, Mr. Hallundbæk founded Welltec in 1994 – materializing a vision that has transformed the way energy is produced.
With great success, Mr. Hallundbæk has developed the business from a minor sub contractor into a direct contractor to the world’s leading oil and gas companies.
Mr. Hallundbæk still plays an active role in the development of new technology and has authored many SPE papers.
The environment is prioritized highly by Mr. Hallundbæk, which is why he from the start has designed all Welltec’s technologies around principles that safeguard the environment.
Mr. Hallundbæk holds an MSc in Engineering, Naval Architecture (1987) from the Technical University of Denmark.

Brian Schwanitz
Vice President – Global Sales and Marketing
V.P. Brian Schwanitz, Global Sales and Marketing, responsible for Welltec’s worldwide sales efforts and customer relations.

Previous to joining Welltec in 2002, Mr. Schwanitz worked for Schlumberger in various product lines and managerial positions for 25 years.
As General Manager in USA, Mr. Schwanitz developed the business from a single location in the US into 9 operational bases with over 60 employees.
Mr. Schwanitz has further served as an International Board member of ICoTA (Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association) and authored 7 SPE papers and 11 published articles.
Mr. Schwanitz holds a BSc in Applied Mining Geophysics from Michigan Technological University, USA.

Terje Skeie
Vice President – Global Operations
V.P. Terje Skeie, Global Operations, overall responsible for the management of Welltec’s worldwide operations including maintenance and coordination of field engineers.

Standing out from the rest of Welltec’s senior management, Mr. Skeie has a background in the Royal Norwegian Navy, providing him with competences to create high quality solutions and optimizing co-operation in a group.
Prior to joining Welltec, Mr. Skeie worked in various managerial positions within wireline interventions and was attached to Welltec technology since 1995. Mr. Skeie became General Manager in Norway in 1999 responsible for the successful development of Welltec’s 3 offices in Norway.
Mr. Skeie has an engineering degree in process automation.

Christian Krüger
Vice President – Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean Area
V.P. Christian Krüger, responsible for managing all business in Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean Area.

Mr. Krüger joined Welltec in 1999, succeeding 11 years of work as a field engineer as well as in various managerial positions for Schlumberger. Mr. Krüger was involved in Schlumberger’s wireline and drilling operations in Latin America and the North Sea region.
Mr. Krüger holds an MSc in Geology from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition to his geology degree, he has taken courses in marketing, negotiation and management.

Gregg Lindstrom
Vice President – Canada, the US and Latin America
V.P. Gregg Lindstrom, responsible for managing all business in Canada, the US and Latin America.

Prior to joining Welltec in 2001, Mr. Lindstrom worked for a leading Canadian drilling contractor as well as a major international wireline company and also held a position of Drilling Superintendent.
In 2001, Mr. Lindstrom brought his industry experience to Welltec as General Manager Canada and has been behind the successful start-up and development of Welltec in Canada.
Mr. Lindstrom is a registered Engineering Technologist from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Canada, and also holds an MBA from Queens University, Canada.

Joe Collins
Vice President – Asia-Pacific
V.P. Joe Collins, responsible for managing all business in the Asia-Pacific region.

Encompassing 28 years, Mr. Collins has worked extensively in the industry in various engineering positions throughout Europe and North Africa as a wireline engineer and well-test supervisor. He has been working in the Asia-Pacific region for 16 years in service company management positions, latterly as a Regional Manager.
Joining Welltec in 2005, Mr. Collins is tasked to establish administrative offices and profitable offshore operations throughout the region
Mr. Collins studied Physics and Biochemistry at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and also has a diploma in Industrial Electronics from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics, USA.

Alec McKay
Vice President – Europe and the Former Soviet Union
V.P. Alex McKay, responsible for managing all business in Scandinavia, the UK, mainland Europe (except from the Mediterranean area), Caspian Sea and the Former Soviet Union.

Before joining Welltec in 2006, Mr McKay enjoyed a long career with Schlumberger spanning 27 years where he worked in various field and managerial positions around Africa, Europe, North America and Central Asia.
Mr. McKay has served on the board of several professional societies including the Society of Professional Well Log Analysts Norway, SPE Azerbaijan, London and Aberdeen as well as The Institute of Petroleum in Aberdeen.
Mr. McKay holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
