Optimizing reservoir drainage is a highly skilled profession which requires years of experience, a coherent and consistent use of best-practice, but also the courage to challenge it.
That is why we are introducing a new paradigm. This new paradigm enables operators to manage their wells and reservoirs more efficiently. With the suite of services we offer, operators are given the opportunity to include these already from the drilling phase by increasing knowledge of their wells and thereby enable them to manage their wells more effectively, with lower upfront capital expenditure, lower operating expenditures, high return on invested capital and with higher recovery rates.
This paradigm shift involves the entire well life cycle and has a far-reaching impact on the way oil and gas can be produced by enabling optimal reservoir exploitation.
This also implies the need for a flexible well design and reservoir characterization uncertainties are one of the main drivers behind this concept. The drainage approach is fine-tuned over the lifespan of the reservoir as the knowledge base of the behavior of the specific reservoir increases. The end goal is a significant increase in the ultimate recovery rates.
Optimization through well interventions has historically been considered cost prohibitive, particular in subsea wells; however, with the technology available today this picture has completely changed. Our approach enables operators to utilize an adaptive approach which is the key to improved reservoir drainage.
